ABOUT

ABOUT

“Raleigh is a vocal chameleon - her honeyed vocals pretty much make any song sound sensational” - Chelsea Wilson, Broadcaster & Producer, Artistic Director, Women of Soul

“Raleigh is a versatile and soulful singer with a captivating stage presence. Her powerful vocal ability helps her cross genres with ease” – Serge Carnovale, Artistic Director, Paris Cat Melbourne

Showcasing a magnificent voice that draws on a background of singing and composing in a diverse range of styles, Raleigh Williams is fast becoming one of Melbourne’s most respected vocalists.

Years of experience performing both in Australia and internationally (Italy, Turkey, France, Indonesia, New Zealand), has delivered Williams a standing reputation as one of Melbourne’s best session singers, featuring in genres as diverse as world music, classical, country, jazz, pop and soul. Exposure to so many different genres and performance opportunties has placed her in a unique position to gracefully navigate the cross-section of the Australian music scene as a performer and creative producer.

Currently one of the house vocalists with ARIA-award winning Cookin’ on Three Burners, and previously vocalist in exciting new Australian rock-Americana-blues superband ‘FOOLS’ - along with multiple independent projects - Raleigh has featured across different festival and concert platforms such as Byron Bay Bluesfest, Melbourne International Jazz Festival, Stonnington Jazz Festival, St Kilda Blues Festival, Melbourne Recital Centre, Meatstock, The Tote, Memo Hall, Jazzlab, Paris Cat, Palais Hepburn, Federation Square - to name a few.

Her French jazz project, La Nuit Blanche, has performed at major festivals and concerts across Australia since its inception 8 years ago including Stonnington and Melbourne Jazz Festivals, Bastille Day Festivals, Adelaide French Festival, Federation Square and the NGV, for visiting French and local dignitaries and Francophile/Francophone crowds alike.

She’s exercised Melbourne stages at sold-out gigs appearing with the Nathan Liow jazz trio, beloved local soul outfit Moreland City Soul Revue, the Women of Soul Collective, and toured Australia-wide with global music machine Amanaska, while being an in-demand session singer for local acts - find some musical samples below. Recent highlights include Dusty Springfield Reimagined at the Palais Theatre Hepburn, ‘This Bitter Earth’ at the Melbourne Recital Centre, 'The Melankolics’ with Paul Grabowsky at Jazzlab, and the Australian anthem at Marvel Stadium for the Supercross, and resident anthem singer for Melbourne United at John Cain Arena.

Her annual homages to soul and jazz icons Amy Winehouse, Dusty Springfield, Nina Simone and Eartha Kitt have become firm favourites to the Melbourne public.

Raleigh is also an artistic programmer and producer for contemporary music, with close to twenty year’s experience in the Australian music industry as a performer and booker, and a network of musicians expansing across most genres imaginable across Australia. After curating the successful 2023 season for jazz club The Count’s, part of the Monash Performing Arts Centre, she is currently working on multiple projects for local councils (Valley Sounds - Moonee Valley City Council) and clients to deliver exciting and fresh live musical experiences to the masses.

When possible, RW is available to collaborate for private and corporate events and, amongst other things, specialises in delivering feature performances in French or Italian, but also in other languages when required, as well as jazz, pop and soul (in English).

. Previous clients include Palace Cinema, Lancome, Bulgari, Gucci, San Pellegrino, The Champagne Dame, Paspaley Pearls - to name but a few. Please get in touch via the Contact form at the bottom of the website.
